Lip gloss addicted? Ily’s got your fix ;)

Today we are going to talk lip gloss! If you are anything like me, then you don’t often (if ever) leave the house with a little something nice and shiny on your lips. After a long time of putting up with questionable or more than questionable quality lip glosses, I have finally managed to find a few brands that make great products! Let’s take a look!

By the way, you can CLICK on all the pictures to see bigger versions than the blog format allows! ^_^

Be a Bombshell lip gloss in “Hot Mess” from my December Ipsy Glam Bag.

(price: 14 USD)

This was my “first love” lip gloss. It is super pigmented (almost like a lipstick—you can intensify the colour by adding more layers), and it feels great on the lips—it’s not sticky and it doesn’t really make your lips dry.

I would say it’s pretty long lasting; I didn’t find myself having to reapply often, however, do keep in mind that I am a bit of a weirdo, and I always wipe off lip products before eating, so I can’t guarantee that it will stay on after you are done eating and drinking.

Price wise, for the quality, I think it’s totally worth it! I would definitely buy this again when it runs out, and even try out different colours. This brand doesn’t ship to Canada yet (so far only to US), but they have told me in a Facebook reply that they are currently working on being able to ship to Canada, so yay!! ^_^

Studio 277 lip gloss in “E330 Almost Nude” from my Lip Factory Inc. May Box.

(price: 9.50 USD)

This is a really nice nude lip gloss, though it may look a bit strange on darker lips (you just need to find a colour that suits you!). It’s a bit thicker than the Be a Bombshell one, yet it’s not sticky or drying, in fact, it makes you lips feel pretty moisturized!

In terms of how long it will last on your lips, it is definitely not as good as the Be a Bombshell one because of its thicker consistency and lack of good pigmentation, so you will probably need to reapply a lot more often than the previous gloss I reviewed.

Price wise, for the quality, I would buy this again because I really like how it feels on my lips, and it works well when trying to achieve a more natural look. I would definitely want to try different shades, and see what else looks good!

NYX Cosmetics lip gloss in “RLG 05 Sparkle” from my Lip Factory Inc. May Box.

(price: 3.54 British Pounds—for some reason I don’t see it on the Canadian or US website)

This lip gloss wears nicely. Again, it’s not sticky or drying, and the colour looks a lot less pink when you put it on than it does in the bottle (but that depends a lot on your natural lip colour).

The biggest complaint I have about this is that the glittery bits in it leave a mess when you try to wipe it off, and it’s pretty difficult to try and get rid of them properly (you’ll definitely get it all over you sweetheart’s skin, so beware! Hehe ^_^).

Price wise, for the quality, I would buy it again because it wears nicely (though the colour staying power isn’t as good as Be a Bombshell’s gloss), but I would probably not buy this specific type of gloss just because it’s really sparkly and only works when you go out on special occasions—I would surely wear this for dinner dates though! I don’t see myself using this too often (again, because of the sparkly quality), but if sparkly lip glosses are your thing, I would definitely give this one a try!

Juice Beauty lip gloss in “Fig” from my May Ipsy Glam Bag.

(price: 15 USD)

The link below is for a set of 4 glosses for 48 USD instead of the original 60 USD.

I love this gloss! It’s probably the least sticky out of all of the ones I will review in this post. It feels very creamy and wears nicely. It’s not shimmery, yet it is a bit shiny (not any more shiny than any other gloss, in fact, probably less than most). Did I mention it smells like grapes? Because it totally does!

For staying power, I’d say it’s pretty long lasting, but, again, I remind you that I do wipe off all lip products before eating, so I can’t say much about how well it stays on in that situation. Pigmentation wise, pretty much what you see in the bottle is what you’ll get on your lips, which is great! I love to wear this for more natural looks or when I do a look that emphasizes a lot on the eyes, and I don’t want my lips to be naked, but I don’t want them to be overpowering either.

Price wise, for the quality, I would definitely buy this again! I actually want to get the set of 4 that Juice Beauty has on their website (link above) just because I really love wearing it, and the other colours they offer seem like they would work for my taste!

Vera Wang lip gloss and perfume rollerball set

(price: N/A)

Link N/A—for some reason, I can’t seem to find this product online. If you know of a website that sells it, please comment on this post, so I can list it here for those interested in trying this out.

This gloss isn’t as good quality as any of the ones I have reviewed, but it is still a good product that I personally wear almost every day. I am a big fan of the Vera Wang Princess perfume, so having the little roller ball perfume on the other end is just perfect for freshening up!

The colour is a really nice pink with a bit of shimmer, and it actually wears quite nicely. It’s a tiny bit sticky, but not enough to deter me from using it (and, trust me, I absolutely hate sticky glosses).

Even though I do not have a lot of information on how much this would cost or where exactly you can buy it (I’m sure eBay sells it somewhere, but I didn’t want to link that because I’ve never tried buying it from there—don’t want to accidentally send you to a bad seller), if given the opportunity, I would buy it again when this one runs out just because it’s a perfect combo for me since I wear that perfume every day. If you see this in stores and think about trying it out, I would say go for it—even if you don’t love the gloss, you’ll have the roller-ball perfume to compensate 🙂

Lastly, here are some swatches I did on my hand—please remember that they will not look like this on your lips unless your lips are as pale as my skin (which would be strange, and I’d like to see pics if you were like that haha)!
